A three days international conference on human values in higher education was organised at Gaeddu College of Business studies, GEDU, Bhutan. The primary objective of this workshop was to formulate and develop a GNH (Gross National Happiness) framework which has been recognised by many countries as a solace to the current global scenario of conflicts between humans and exploitation of nature by humans. GNH should be the parameter to realize the purpose of education.
The Conference addressed key issues pertaining to the inclusion of UHV (Universal Human Values) in higher education globally leading to the development of a living model of ‘GNH Society’.
Some of the leading technological institutes such as IIIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, NIT Raipur, BHU, IIM Kolkata, and IIM Lucknow etc. have conducted certain experiments using different models for integrating Human Values in higher education.
This foundation course on UHV (Universal Human Values) has been adopted by RV Institute of Technology, along with Royal University in Bhutan and 36 other universities.
